Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare for car dumper operations
- Access, interpret and apply ore car dumpers documentation, and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, interpret and clarify / confirm work requirements before proceeding
- Identify yard layout limit and locations of derailers
- Identify, address and report potential hazards and risks
- Identify, address and report environmental issues
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work activity
- Access and identify locations of emergency stops
- Locate first aid areas
- Conduct and monitor car dumper operations
- Coordinate activities with others prior to commencement of, and during, the work activity
- Assist rail operations to position ore cars in the car dumper
- Check correct plant operation prior to start-up
- Carry out car dumper pre-start checks on all levels
- Conduct prestart checks and ongoing plant inspection, take equipment indicator readings and identify, rectify and report defects and potential problems
- Act on or report monitoring systems and
- Monitor the ore handling system, equipment operation and personnel safety
- Maintain car dumper equipment
- Shutdown car dumper equipment
- Carry out car dumper shutdown procedures according to equipment configurations, system and safety requirements
- Isolate fixed plant and equipment for maintenance
- Perform post shutdown and isolation checks
- Return dumper equipment to service
- Provide support for maintenance personnel
- Complete all required written documentation clearly, concisely and on time
- Pass on shift change-over details to oncoming shift
